Speaking on , Crouch said: "I'm biased obviously, but [if I was him] I'd go to Liverpool and if he goes there, I think there would be a period of dominance for the next two or three years with [Virgil] van Dijk and [Mohamed] Salah signing those deals.

Ferdinand added: "I don't know if Liverpool have got the capacity financially [to sign him]. I think he should go Madrid, I don't want to see this type of dominance [from Liverpool]."

The Swede could be the final piece of Mikel Arteta's puzzle but it is clear Arne Slot already has a group capable of winning the big titles. Both Salah and Van Dijk staying is a huge boost and it is also very clear he would go straight into their strongest starting XI.
