BBC Strictly fans spot Wynne Evans and Katya Jones' 'awkward' reaction to live results

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing were quick to point out another awkward moment between Wynne Evans and his dance partner Katya Jones as they made it through to next week's show.

Following Saturday night's programme, Katya and Wynne were plagued with controversy after viewers noticed Katya moved Wynne's hand from her waist while live on TV. The clip of the uncomfortable moment quickly went viral, causing uproar on social media.

The pair later released a video statement on Saturday night, with Katya explaining that it was a "joke". However, due to the awkward moment on the previous show, fans also noticed how things continued to look rather sensitive between the pair.

On Sunday night's results show (October 13), Katya and Wynne made it through and avoided the dreaded dance-off. But fans noticed that when the good news was announced by presenter Tess Daly, Wynne waited a few seconds before he embraced Katya.

Picking up on this, fans headed over to X. One viewer said: "Wynne kept his hands by his side until Katya hugged him first."

Another added: "Wynne very sheepishly saying thanks." A third also penned: "Katya and Wynne looked super awkward there."

A fourth added: "I do wonder if Wynne has been spoken to, he looked very nervous before and after Tess announced they were through. They must have seen the reaction on here last night.

But despite the social media going to town with the comments noting that Wynne looked awkward, others tried to jump to his defence. One viewer wrote: "Katya has her own voice and said she is fine with Wynne in two separate videos now.

"They were having a joke. Perhaps it would be a good idea to take it for what it is rather than ruining a guy's experience which he’s clearly loving and potentially tarnish his reputation."

Another echoed: "Ok, so what if the Katya and Wynne incident was just something silly and nothing more? Poor Wynne looks shell shocked on the results show."

Following fans' concerns on Saturday night, Katya and Wynne released a video statement apologising. Katya said: "Hi everyone, it’s Wynne and Katya here. We just wanted to say, we were just messing around in the Clauditorium on Saturday night,” Jones said. "We just wanted to say sorry. It was a silly joke." Wynne also said "sorry" as he faced the camera.
