Send Push

It has only been a few days but has already left the nation glued to their screens. But usually, housemates are still getting to know each other and putting on their best behaviour.

So it's perhaps understandable that fans of the show were left questioning why ,29, has already earned herself a nickname and the reason behind the name. Viewers of the show have been left scratching their heads after witnessing Rosie being referred to as baked potato.

Taking to social media, one fan wrote: "Why is the girl called baked potato on big brother?" Another fan added: "The way I want Baked Potato to win just so when people in the future search up the winner of #BBUK 2024 they’ll be so confused why someone called 'Baked Potato' won it"

Meanwhile a third person said: "i missed the first couple of eps of big brother and cba watching on catch up because i’ll simply not catch up." And a fourth penned: "so can someone tell me why that lassies name is baked potato ??? been losing my mind over it for 23 hours".

But the reason behind the name is even more puzzling. When the housemates walked into the house, it was divided into a red zone and a blue zone. Contestants were told to choose between the two zones. But those who opted for the red zone were told they would be considered as "non housemates" and living in "storage".

During that week, contestants were set a number of challenges and Rosie was told to eat a blended cheese sandwich and change her name - and so she chose baked potato. Since landing a spot on the popular TV show, hosted by and , Rosie has already become a favourite among viewers after she vowed to use the cash prize to fund her pal's IVF journey.

She also said she'd help people with mental health issues. She said: "I would also like to help people with mental health issues. I like helping people anyway but if I had money I’d be in a better position to do that." When the dental assistant first entered the house, viewers didn't appear to warm to her and were left irritated by her screams.

Taking to social media, one person wrote: "Can Rosie stop screaming #bbuk." Another person said"Please stop screaming, Rosie. I have a dog. #BBUK." And a third viewer commented: "Why is she screaming #BBUK." Understanding her excitement, another viewer posted: "Honestly I think she's just excited, which is to be expected I doubt she will be screaming like this into next week at least I hope #BBUK."

Explaining her decision to apply for the show that has, in the past, created household names, she said: "This is something I've always wanted to do and I know it's so easy to say but it's the best opportunity. I can't tell you how grateful I am. I can't even believe it's happening!"

And on the house dynamics, she added: "I'm hoping it's going to be a little something different. I think I'm going to bring positive energy. I am a good listener and I can be there to support people - I'm a supportive person. I'm quite an enthusiastic person so if people are feeling a bit low, I can get them back on track."
