'Brits' affection for late Queen undimmed on anniversary as memorial to be built'

Send Push

Sunday is the second anniversary of the late Queen’s death and the affection in which she is held has not dimmed with time.

The nation remains forever grateful for her years of service and the dignity and diligence with which she led the country. So it is fitting that a memorial is to be built to honour not just our longest-serving monarch but also one of the greatest.

For the Royal Family, as with any family, the anniversary of the passing of a loved one will be a time of reflection and sorrow. This has been a difficult year for the monarchy. The King and Princess Kate are still recovering from cancer while tensions between Prince William and Prince Harry remain unresolved.

While it is right they will want to remember the late Queen’s legacy of service, this is also a time for the royals to look to the future and hope for happier times ahead.
