Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey - and to stop complaining over his goalscoring form.

The Egyptian winger with seven goals and seven assists in 12 games across all competitions but is still receiving his critics for not finding the back of the net as much as he used to.

Now 32, is heading towards the twilight years of his career, although is yet to show any signs of slowing down as things stand, even if he recorded his lowest goals tally since joining last season (18).

However, it appears the Egypt international continues to be a victim of his own high standards, having scored more than 20 goals in four of his seven seasons at Anfield prior to the current campaign. Even so, seven goals in his first 12 games of this season is an impressive showing.

But with there no shying away from the fact that , former Red Heskey has encouraged fans to just appreciate him while he is still here.

Speaking to , he said: “I can definitely see Mohamed Salah beating Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard’s Premier League goals records this season. With Salah on 162 goals and Lampard and Henry on 177 and 175, respectively, it’s definitely achievable.

“I see a lot of people complaining that Salah isn’t scoring as much anymore, but he’s scored around 20+ Premier League goals a season for eight years! I think he needs a bit more respect from people.

“I think he’ll get over 20 goals this season again, and if he does that then he’ll surpass Lampard and Henry which would be an incredible achievement. We need to appreciate him at the club while he’s still here, and hopefully that’s beyond next summer.”

Heskey's exciting prediction for Salah also reaffirms his remarkable talent and danger in front of goal. As things stand, another 17 goals will see the Egyptian climb above Premier League greats and Thierry Henry in the overall goal-scoring charts.

The former Roma man has 30 games left of this season to achieve such a feat, but is perfectly more than capable of doing so regardless of where Liverpool finish this season. However, fast start since coming in as manager gives Salah every chance of surpassing Lampard and Henry's records.

Having already notched five times in eight top flight outings this season, Salah is on course to achieve 23 goals - more than what he needs to beat Henry and Lampard's Premier League goal records this season.
