Emmerdale fans 'rumble tragic Belle twist' after sign Tom King attack 'wasn't real'

Send Push

Emmerdale fans are fearing for Belle Dingle's safety after a possible clue she has been seriously harmed by Tom King.

Despite Friday's episode teasing Tom's fate after Belle attacked her abusive husband with an axe, some viewers think a comment she made and some past scenes on the ITV soap could allude to a tragic twist. Viewers are wondering if Belle was unconcious or in a dream-like state, after failing to believe Tom was attacked with an axe.

While some viewers suggested the scene of the crime looked a little too clean for such an incident, others weren't happy with bosses going down this route during their important domestic abuse storyline. Viewers saw Tom attack Belle and then plot to kill her with a shotgun last week.

She hit him in the back with an axe and declared he was dead, with her family seemingly plotting to cover it up. But when his body went missing he was revealed to be alive, and was loaded into an ambulance.

Some fans thought this was all a bit far-fetched, with plenty suggesting it could not be real. Viewers began to suggest anything after Tom's attack on Belle at the cottage might have been fantasy, imagined by Belle herself.

She recently imagined three future scenarios of what her life would be like depending on what happened with abuser Tom. So could this be part of that imagined future, or maybe even one of those coming to life? Could Belle be in grave danger and this all be imagined?

One viewer posted on social media: "I don't think this is real life. Just something Belle said at the end. Basically damned whatever happens. Remember her dream?" Another agreed: "Something is not right here and I'll put a tenner on that that wasn't real."

A third fan posted: "I think he knocked her out in the cottage when he attacked her and this is what she is seeing maybe." Meanwhile a fourth viewer said: "Got me thinking... there was no blood on Tom's back, no blood on the axe and no blood on the bed. Like someone has already said was it Belle dreaming after being knocked out by him when he was beating her up? I don't know."

Viewers will have to tune in on Monday night to find out what really happened, If it's all imagined, and what Tom's true fate is. But will Tom remember what happened with Belle?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , and Threads .
