Friends' baby Emma stars are all grown up as they reveal surprise move after beloved sitcom

Good Morning Britain fans were in for a surprise on Friday as the show spoke to the twin actresses who played baby Emma on Friends.

As the beloved sitcom celebrates its 30th anniversary, GMB decided to track down the two sisters who played baby Emma on Friends, the daughter of Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) and Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston).

Speaking to twins Noelle and Cali Sheldon, who are now 22, the duo as expected looked unrecognisable from their days of playing baby Emma on the sitcom as they shared what they think Emma would be doing now amid the show's anniversary.

The duo said: "It feels really cool getting to be part of a show that's older than we are, Friends has been part of pop culture and television history since we were babies, I'm really grateful for it." They added that Emma would be the 'perfect mix' of Ross and Rachel, having style but also a studious side.

After the interview, host Richard Arnold said they had both just graduated from UCLA and want to pursue a career behind the camera as opposed to in front of it.

The actresses previously revealed that they weren't allowed to watch Friends until they were 13 and confessed: "I don't remember anything about being on the show, but I've seen the pictures."

Their mum Gretchen Carpenter also told Bustle: "Everyone was really, really nice to Noelle and Cali, and treated them like little princesses on the set."

Despite now pursuing careers off-camera, the duo did go on to appear in more films and TV shows. The twins' last role was in 2019 for thriller horror movie Us, where they played Lindsey and Becca Tyler.

It comes as fans of the beloved TV show were left misty-eyed as the show paid tribute to late actor Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing, last month.

In a touching tribute to over 12.3 million followers on Instagram, the show’s official Instagram page marked what would have been Matthew’s 55th birthday last month. "On this day, we remember the light that was Matthew Perry," a caption on the post, which has over 544,000 likes, said.

Tributes flooded in through the comment section of the post, with a number of people saying they will miss Chandler Bing, Matthew’s character on Friends. “We gonna miss him forever and ever,” one person wrote.

Another, referencing one of Chandler’s catchphrases, said: “Could we miss him more??” Another wrote: “Our dearest Chan Chan Man”. It is the latest public tribute to the Friends funnyman, who was also known for his roles in the films 17 Again, Fools Rush In and The Whole Nine Yards.

Following his death in October 2023, the show released an Instagram post, which is still the pinned tweet on the account, that read: "We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans."

Matthew’s Friends co-stars Jennifer, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David and Matt LeBlanc released a joint statement following his passing last year. They said: "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss."

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on both ITV and ITV X.
