Harry Potter fan theory claims Hogwarts houses were inspired by Narnia

Some Harry Potter fans believe the houses at Hogwarts were inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia.

Even though it's been over 10 years since the final book and then film were released, die hard Harry Potter fans are still discussing their own theories about the series.

The internet is full of sub-plots, stories and fanfiction ideas about Harry Potter and other characters. Some seem quite plausible, while others are just too farfetched.

But one that fans hope is true is that the Hogwarts school houses were inspired by the children in the Chronicles of Narnia.

Responding to a question asking for Harry Potter theories, one person wrote: "That each Hogwarts house was inspired by one of the Pevensie children from Narnia. Peter is Gryffindor, Susan is Ravenclaw, Edmund is Slytherin, and Lucy is Hufflepuff."

The Chronicles of Narnia is a fantasy written by C.S. Lewis.

One of the most famous books from the series is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe which follows the four siblings as they dive into the Narnia kingdom to defeat an evil snow queen.

And someone else in another thread said: "I always thought the theory that the four kids in Narnia are like the four founders of each house in harry potter was super interesting!! Their genders and personality’s match up really well."

They argued that Susan is like Rowena Ravenclaw because she is logical and prefers to make intellectual decisions and think through things logically. While Peter resembles Godric Gryffindor as he appears very brave, and also super determined. They added that he is also loyal and would do anything for his family.

The poster added: "Edmund [is] Salazar Slytherin. Edmund is super ambitious and wants to do things on his own. He wants to be a leader and he is super resourceful. Lucy [is] Helga Hufflepuff. Lucy is super loyal and kind. She values honesty and commitment."

There's no link to Harry Potter in Lewis' books, nor is Narnia mentioned in J.K. Rowling's series, but the idea is one fans are keen on.

One replied: "I love harry potter and Narnia tons so i will choose to believe in this." And another added: "Yes! This is honestly my favourite crossover from fictional worlds."
