Liverpool Carabao Cup fixture vs Brighton date and time confirmed

Liverpool has confirmed the date for its Carabao Cup tie against Brighton next month, with the Reds facing a huge few weeks in their season.

Arne Slot’s side of course overcame West Ham in the third round last week to set up a tie against Brighton. Goals from Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo saw the Reds ease to a 5-1 win over the Hammers as they made the perfect start to the defense of their trophy.

It’s now been confirmed that Liverpool will travel to the Amex Stadium on Wednesday, October 30. The game will kick-off at the slightly earlier time of 7.30pm in the UK, 2.30pm ET, and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The trip to Brighton rounds off what will be a huge month for Liverpool, and undoubtedly Slot’s biggest test since taking over from Jurgen Klopp during the summer.

After hosting Bologna in the Champions League this Wednesday (October 2), the Reds will head to Crystal Palace for the early kick-off on Saturday before the second international break of the season.

Upon their return on October 20 though, their hopes of winning some silverware this season will really be tested. First up is a tricky home encounter with Chelsea, before heading to RB Leipzig three days later in the Champions League.

After their trip to Germany, Liverpool will be back on the road for their biggest game of the season so far as they take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in a true test of their Premier League title credentials, before heading to Brighton just a few days later.

In fact, the Reds will face the Seagulls twice in the space of just a few days, with Brighton heading to Anfield just a few days after the cup tie on November 2.

Liverpool.com says: Slot has made no secret of the fact that Liverpool has had a favorable start to the season in terms of its fixtures – even a trip to Old Trafford didn’t really test the Reds. October though will tell us a lot more about what is in store for the Dutchman’s first season in charge.

Those games against Chelsea and Arsenal in particular will give us a better understanding of just where Liverpool sits in the conversation about this season’s title. If they’re still sitting at the top of the table by the end of next month, the likes of Gary Neville may have to start taking their credentials a bit more seriously.
