Peter Andre says he's praying for his beloved Mum, Thea, as she battles ill health.

The 89-year-old, who lives in Australia with the singer's dad, Savvas, 91, has sadly been diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Pete, 51, often speaks of his love for his parents and is now hoping Thea 'makes it safely' to the couple's 70th wedding anniversary.

Explaining her relationship with Savvas is something he's "always looked up to", he said: "My parents marked their 69th wedding anniversary recently, which is amazing. Their relationship is so inspiring, their love has always been something I’ve looked up to. I’m praying they make it safely to their 70th anniversary next year."

Pete continued in his column for OK! magazine: "It’s really tough to see your parents get old or sick, but I’m also so grateful as I know how lucky I am to still have parents around. A lot of people don’t have that. I will be going to Australia to see them soon."

The dad-of-five posted a picture of his parents as they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary earlier this month. The Mysterious Girl star also shared a clip of his father carrying a lavish bouquet of flowers to visit his mum in the care home where she lives.

As Thea's face lit up when she saw the blooms, Pete captioned the video: "You inspire me so much mum and dad. Love you so very much. My 91-year-old dad giving flowers to my beautiful mum. Happy 69th wedding anniversary."

Earlier this year in his New! column, the singer opened up about how he struggles seeing his parents' health deteriorate. He shared: "I can't believe I'm nearly 51. I was worried as I approached 50, but I'm over that and I feel great. I'm loving life and age is just a number. You can live life to the fullest at any age."

He added: "Although I thank God my parents are still here, I am seeing the rapid decline, especially in Mum. I find that part hard to deal with. Like most people, l'm so close to my parents that it is really difficult to come to terms with."

Back in May, Pete spoke of his pride for son, Junior, and daughter, Princess, when they flew to Australia to visit their grandma, Thea. Pete and Emily had just welcomed their daughter, Arabella, into the world and were unable to make the trip.

Taking to Instagram posting a snap of the teenagers with Thea in the care home, Pete praised the pair for flying across the world, gushing they made him "so proud".
