Susanna Reid has brutally hit out at former ITV colleague in the aftermath of his return to the spotlight.
star 53, has been helming the morning news show on since 2014 - overlapping with 21-year career at flagship daytime show The 62-year-old former host fronted the series from 2002 until 2023 and left under a cloud of shame as he admitted having an "unwise, but not illegal" affair with a much younger male colleague behind-the-scenes of .
Earlier this year, Phil attempted to revive his TV career as he appeared on the Channel 5 documentary three-parter Cast Away. He was left on a deserted island for 10 days and left to fend for himself against hunger and the elements - filming himself all the while.
During his time at ITV, Phil would have been just down the corridor from Susanna as both This Morning and Good Morning Britain film in the same studios. But in a new interview, Susanna hinted she had effectively no relationship with the former daytime TV show presenter.

Asked for her opinion about Phillip’s recent Channel 5 show, Susanna bluntly told “I didn’t watch it, and I don’t know him.” She was also asked about her experience on as she took part in the long-running series in 2013 and that show has recently survived a scandal of its own.
Susanna reflected on working with her dance partner Kevin Clifton, 42, and said: "I had such a great experience with him. It is like being on a different planet, because everything sparkles, and so it's a shame when it doesn't for other people. I think it's really important that if people have had a bad experience that is addressed and they are supported."
While filming Cast Away, Phil hinted he is now done with the of TV completely. He told cameras: "Isolation has forced me to revisit the past and come to some big decisions about my future. I don't think I want to do it any more. Look, I love telly. I've got telly in my bones. But I won't sit on a sofa again, I'm not going to do that again."
He also explained he was oblivious to a 'toxic work environment' at This Morning - which was exposed after he quit the show as employees stepped forward to complain. Phil claimed: "There wasn't toxicity when I was there, I found out when I left - you are protected from it. There were some pretty tricky people in there but I didn't know. When you have given so much to somewhere and been so loyal, to have no loyalty shown to you."
And explaining his experience on the show, he said: "When I get on that boat and I leave here, I will know that I did my best and I've said my piece. Anyone who's bitter about that, honestly you can f*** off, because I don't give a sh**. I quit. Mic drop."
