Anton du Beke dropped a bombshell on The One Show, admitting "I feel like I could go" which led host Vernon Jones to quickly interject with a heartfelt plea: "You have to stay".

The Strictly Come Dancing judge graced the sofa to spill the tea about his new book and tour, as well as the upcoming series of the BBC dance extravaganza.

But as the chat wound down, Anton threw a curveball, confessing his urge to leave. Wrapping things up, Alex Jones announced: "Well, Anton's book is out next Thursday, and tickets for his tour, Showman are on sale now."

"Thank you very much," Anton expressed his gratitude, with Vernon responding warmly: "It has been a pleasure, my friend," reports the Express.

"That was marvellous, I feel like I could go but I want to stay because I want to hear about you too," Anton revealed to the other guests.

"You have to stay," Vernon firmly stated: "You're not going anywhere."

Alex chimed in with assurance: "You are staying," while her co-host reinforced: "Stay there."

Before this unexpected twist, the Strictly star had been enthusiastically chatting about his literary and dance ventures.

He divulged: "So I've always wanted to write a sort of a spy novel, and I thought when I started writing novels, they were going to be spy novels, and then I got nominated for a romantic novel of the year, and realised they weren't quite as spy-ie as I thought."

Delving into his latest work, the pro dancer continued: "But there's more of that in this, although the relationship remains the same and Nancy's had a baby while Roman was away.

"She was pregnant obviously, when he left, and when he came back, she has the baby, so he's gonna be introduced to his new family.

"But also, there's this big dance at the Albert Hall, somewhere I've danced many times before for the King, and the King was hugely important, obviously, at that period of time.

"And of course, we have a new King now, and it seemed a wonderful synergy. So I've danced a few times for the Royal Family, never for a King, and I thought, well, Raymond could dance for the King at my favorite place, the Royal Albert Hall."

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
