NMC: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Tuesday that the National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 50 new MBBS seats at Tripura Medical College (TMC) and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, Agartala.
With this new approval, the number of MBBS seats at TMC has increased from 100 to 150. With this, a total of 450 MBBS seats are now available across the state.

Statement by Chief Minister Manik Saha
Chief Minister Saha wrote in his Facebook post, "This move is a major step towards expanding medical education and improving healthcare facilities in Tripura."
He stated that a total of 225 MBBS seats have been added to Tripura in the last three years. This reflects the state government's continued commitment to strengthening the health and education sectors.

The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda for their continued support in the development of Tripura's health sector.
