The over turned out to be a forgettable one for Rashid. survived a dropped catch in the very next delivery, a chance that the spinner himself could not hold onto. Later in the same over, Axar Patel sent another delivery sailing over the ropes with a slog sweep. Rashid’s 14th over cost 15 runs, as he finished his four-over quota with figures of 0/36.
Meanwhile, the DC batter was looking set 31 off 21 balls, which included two boundaries and a six. However, just after the timeout, he attempted a reverse scoop off Mohammed Siraj's slow yorker on leg stump. The shot only resulted in an easy catch to Prasidh Krishna at short third.
Earlier, the Shubman Gill-led side opted to field first and struck early. Krishna picked up the two early wickets, removing KL Rahul and Karun Nair after they gave DC a brilliant start as the Capitals posted 73 runs in the powerplay.
