An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi on Monday following a bomb threat on Monday.

The aircraft, which had been en route to John F. Kennedy International Airport, was rerouted to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi after a security concern was raised.

The plane is stationed in Delhi, where all necessary security measures are currently in place, the Delhi police confirmed.

The flight AI119, operating on October 14, was diverted as a precautionary measure based on instructions from the government’s security regulatory committee. Upon landing in Delhi, all passengers were safely disembarked and moved to the airport terminal, said an airline spokesperson.

"The aircraft is currently stationed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, and all standard safety protocols are being diligently followed to ensure the safety of the passengers and crew on board," a senior police officer had said.

Further details awaited.
