Govinda's wife, Sunita, reveals amount he spends on pujas; lashes out against his friends: 'They make him a fool…'

Known for her forthright nature, Sunita Ahuja, wife of veteran actor Govinda, recently made candid revelations during a conversation with Paras S. Chhabra on the Abraa Kaa Dabra Show. She expressed her frustration over her husband’s excessive spending on religious rituals and his habit of trusting people who, according to her, only misguide him for personal gain.

Sunita spoke about how Govinda’s family priest encourages him to perform costly rituals, making him spend large sums unnecessarily. She shared that their household priest often suggests expensive pujas, sometimes costing lakhs, which she believes serve no real purpose.

Sunita firmly stated that prayer should come from personal faith and sincerity rather than from elaborate rituals conducted by others. For her, true spirituality lies in one’s own devotion and good deeds performed selflessly. She emphasized that she believes in doing charitable acts with her own hands, considering them essential for maintaining good karma.

The actor’s wife also voiced concern about Govinda’s health and overall well-being. She remarked that he needs to focus more on self-care, lose some weight, and pay attention to his appearance, particularly his skin, which she feels has deteriorated over time. Sunita added that although Govinda has plans to produce three films soon, his biggest setback has been surrounding himself with the wrong people. In her view, his current group lacks creativity and sincerity, and many of them pose as writers but contribute nothing of real value.

Continuing her blunt assessment, Sunita claimed that many of these people manipulate Govinda, offering poor advice and exploiting his trusting nature. She said they deliberately speak ill of her behind her back to create misunderstandings between her and her husband. Sunita lamented that Govinda tends to believe them easily, which strains their relationship. She challenged these individuals to confront her directly instead of poisoning her husband’s mind.

“They make him a fool and give terrible advice. He doesn’t get good people and they don’t like me because I say the truth..." she said.

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s relationship has endured decades of ups and downs. The couple, who married in 1987 after three years of courtship, share two children—Yashvardhan and Tina Ahuja. However, in recent months, rumors of their marital discord and possible separation have circulated widely online.

Professionally, Govinda has been away from the limelight for a while. His last film, Rangeela Raja (2019), a comedy made on a budget of ₹19 crore, failed at the box office, earning just over ₹18 lakh, marking one of the biggest setbacks in his otherwise illustrious career.
