Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in her speech on Sunday, targeted PM Narendra Modi, saying he was handing over the country's airports and seaports to his businessmen friends.
The Modi regime, she alleged, attacked Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi for fighting for people's rights. "The government spent huge resources to malign Gandhi's image through social media and other channels. The government fought him for standing for people's rights. The people of Wayanad, however, threw their weight behind him," she said.
The NDA regime, she added, was not working for people, but to promote PM's businessmen friends. "Modi ji's single agenda is to be in power by any means possible. He doesn't focus on employment, health, education and the well-being of the people."
Later while campaigning for her sister and UDF candidate for Wayanad bypolls, Opposition leader in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said he did not wish to make a political speech taking PM Modi's name as "we are all bored of him," while addressing a campaign rally along with sister Priyanka.
Gandhi, who toured his former constituency of Wayanad, instead chose to highlight the virtues of the UDF candidate, who, he said, always campaigned for others but this was for the first time she was fighting an election and seeking votes for herself Priyanka is contesting the November 13 bypolls as the UDF candidate for Wayanad vacated by her brother.
