World leaders have spoken out in support of India's ' Operation Sindoor', a military strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir ( PoJK) on 7 May. The operation was carried out in response to the 22 April terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians.
UK Leaders Speak Out
Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak supported India's decision to strike back. He said, “No nation should have to accept terrorist attacks being launched from another country. India is justified in striking terrorist infrastructure.”
Priti Patel, a Member of Parliament in the UK, agreed and said India has the right to protect itself and remove dangerous terrorist setups.
Meanwhile, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy asked both India and Pakistan to show restraint and choose a diplomatic path. While supporting India’s right to security, he also warned against further escalation and called for the protection of civilians.
France Understands India's Stand
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot condemned the April 22 attack and said France understands India’s need to protect itself from terrorism. He added that both India and Pakistan should remain calm to avoid worsening the situation. The French government also expressed full support for India’s fight against terror.
Israel Stands with India
Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, said Israel supports India’s right to self-defence. He also said terrorists must know there is no hiding from the crimes they commit against innocent people.
Netherlands Backs India's Claim on Kashmir
Geert Wilders, a Dutch Member of Parliament, tweeted that Kashmir is "100% Indian" and used the hashtag #PakistanBehindPahalgam, showing full support for India.
US Lawmakers React
US Congressman Shri Thanedar supported India's right to defend itself and said that terrorism cannot be allowed or ignored. He urged the US to back India and said a full investigation into the Pahalgam attack is needed.
Another US lawmaker, Raja Krishnamoorthi, stressed the need to fight terrorism and prevent more violence. However, he also urged efforts to avoid a bigger conflict between India and Pakistan.

‘Operation Sindoor’ was launched in the early hours of 7 May, between 1:05 and 1:30 am. It was a joint strike by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, based on solid intelligence reports.
The forces destroyed nine terrorist camps, four in Pakistan (Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya) and five in PoJK. These camps were linked to terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.
At a press briefing in Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh explained the goals and achievements of the operation. They said India will continue to act firmly against terrorism.
