India were bowled out for 46 in the first innings before making an incredible comeback in the second, with the help of a century from Sarfaraz Khan and half centuries from Rishabh Pant (99), Virat Kohli (70) and Rohit Sharma (52).
New Zealand banked on Rachin Ravindra's 134, Conway's 91 and Southee's quickfire 65 to post 402 in the first innings. Trailing by 366 runs, Indian batters put up a strong fight to set a target of 107 for New Zealand.
