Maharashtra Accident: Father & Two Children Killed In Truck-Motorbike Collision In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Maharashtra: A tragic accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Friday at Satala Phata near Alanda–Sillod village on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Jalgaon highway, where a man and his two young children lost their lives after a truck collided with their motorcycle. The man's wife sustained critical injuries in the incident.

Police identified the deceased as Gopal Chandanse (45), a resident of Satala Budruk in Phulambri taluka, along with his daughter Anu alias Avni (10) and son Rudra (8). His wife, Meenabai (40), was seriously injured and admitted to a hospital for treatment, as reported by Times Of India.

According to police, the family was on their way to Gopal’s native village to visit his ailing mother. At a turn near Satala village, a 10-wheeler truck heading towards Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and loaded with construction materials crashed into their motorcycle.

Gopal and his two children died instantly, while Meenabai was thrown from the vehicle due to the impact and sustained severe injuries to her head and limbs. Rescue operations required the use of a crane and an earthmover to lift the truck, which had become stuck in the roadside soil. The bodies of the deceased were taken to the sub-district hospital in Phulambri.

Authorities seized both the truck and the motorcycle involved in the accident. Officers from the Vadod Bazar police station, including senior PI Sunil Ingle and Phulambri PI Sanjay Sahane, arrived at the scene and worked to control the traffic disruption caused by the incident. Sub-divisional police officer Puja Nagre and highway traffic PI Rahul Lokhande also inspected the site, as reported.

A large crowd of villagers gathered at the location, expressing anger over the tragedy. Police had to calm the situation. After postmortem examinations, the bodies were handed over to the family members.
