Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed that only those revenue department employees who register their attendance through the Face App will be eligible to receive their August salary (to be disbursed in September). This follows the central government’s directive making the Face App and geo-fencing mandatory for all revenue employees.
A formal Government Resolution (GR) regarding this mandate will be issued soon. Minister Bawankule emphasized that this step aims to enhance administrative efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric governance.
During a review meeting of the Revenue Department’s functioning in Raigad district, Minister Bawankule said, “The functioning of various departments is being reviewed to ensure better planning and execution. In the next 150 days, we aim to implement key reforms with proper scheduling.”

Expressing concern over the backlog of cases with revenue officers, Bawankule noted that he has personally resolved over 800 cases in the past four months. He instructed officers to ensure that not a single quasi-judicial case remains pending under their jurisdiction.
He urged revenue officials to make greater use of public grievance redressal platforms like Lok Adalats to resolve disputes. Pending matters with Tehsildars and land records officers must be addressed immediately so that citizens are not forced to approach the Mantralaya (State Secretariat), he said.
The minister also called on officials to take up innovative projects to improve service delivery in the department.
