UP News: A heartbreaking incident came to light in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, where a teacher and his entire family were shot dead. On Saturday, the entire family was cremated on the banks of Dalmau Ganga in Gadganj police station area of Rae Bareli, where a large number of people were present. The police have arrested the main accused in this case, Chandan Verma. Immediately after the incident, the police formed five teams and started searching for the accused, and he was arrested from Jewar toll plaza in Noida.

Brutal murder of teacher and family in Amethi

Police investigation revealed that the accused Chandan Verma had a love affair with the teacher's wife Poonam. However, their relationship had become strained for some time, due to which Chandan committed this heinous murder. The accused killed the entire family with a single pistol and fired about 10 rounds during the incident. This brutal murder took place in Mohanganj police station area.

Tension in love relationship became the reason for murder of family

While arresting the main accused Chandan Verma, he also had an encounter with the police, in which he got injured. He tried to escape by snatching the pistol of the policeman, to which the police retaliated and shot him in the leg. Chandan Verma was immediately arrested and is now in custody. Superintendent of Police Anup Kumar Singh said that the entire case is being investigated speedily.

Accused Chandan Verma injured in police encounter

Teacher Sunil Kumar, his wife Poonam, 6-year-old daughter Drishti and one-year-old daughter Suni, who lived in a rented house at Ahorwa Bhavani intersection in Shivratanganj police station area of Amethi, were murdered on Thursday evening. The accused Chandan Verma was so angry at the time of the incident that he shot whoever came in front of him. After this, he also tried to shoot himself, but failed.

The family had already lodged a complaint against the accused

The family had lodged a complaint against Chandan Verma some time ago. Sunil Kumar and Poonam had lodged an FIR against Chandan in Rae Bareli a month ago, in which they had said that if anything untoward happens to them, Chandan would be responsible for it. Poonam had lodged a case against Chandan on August 18 under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and molestation. Police say that further investigation is being done in this case, so that all aspects of the murder can be revealed.
