A restaurant manager is facing a charge after he allegedly a co-worker in a row over burning some .
A customer who witnessed the shooting says 22-year-old Rodney Wood got into a row over burnt biscuits - an American savoury item, much like a British scone. The eyewitness says the pair "took the argument outside" and began shouting in the street over one burning the food.
Wood allegedly then . The altercation initially began inside a Popeyes location in Charlotte, North Carolina, at around 6pm local time on Sunday, May 11. He has since been charged with both attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, per the arrest details.

According to a police affidavit obtained by WBTV, a customer who witnessed the incident said that Wood got in a disagreement with a fellow employee over "burnt biscuits".
In court documents, authorities state that video taken from the scene allegedly shows Wood “discharging his firearm twice at point-blank range,” then outlet reported.
It has been reported that the bullets hit the victim, whose name has not been released, in the groin and chest. He was rushed to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery.
Wood allegedly ran from the Popeyes after the shooting, but authorities found him shortly after in the same shopping centre.
He allegedly told authorities that his co-worker had punched him in the face three times once they stepped outside and claimed that he fired “two warning shots” that were not intended to be fatal, it has been claimed.
Authorities said that Wood “failed to articulate a credible, imminent threat of deadly force necessary to support a self-defence claim under state law,”.
Both Wood and the victim were managers at the Popeyes location. He is currently in custody with a bond set for $50,000 (around £37k).
