Jake Paul has revealed exactly how he plans to stop Julio Cesar Chavez Jr ahead of their mouthwatering showdown. The two boxing stars will go head-to-head in a cruiserweight clash on Saturday night.
Paul is hoping that a win over the former middleweight champion will earn him top fights going forward against some of the biggest names in boxing. The 'Problem Child' has not fought beating Mike Tyson last November.
As for Chavez Jr, the 39-year-old ended a three year hiatus last July when he defeated former UFC middleweight contender Uriah Hall on points. Ahead of Saturday night's dust-up, the pair went face-to-face at a pre-fight press conference on Thursday evening.
When asked for his official prediction, Paul revealed he plans to knock the Mexican out in the first round with a right hook. "I'm gunna knock him out," Paul said. "That's what I came here to do. First-round. It's going to be an early night. He's going to get hit with a right hook right away and I'm going home early. I don't get paid for overtime. It's going to be a spectacular performance."
Paul is well known for his trash talk and getting under his opponents' skin. However, Chavez Jr revealed that none of it bothers him, stating: "No, I was expecting that from him. It's the only way for him to get attention. I am ready." Before the press conference started, tensions nearly boiled over after Paul threw a shirt at his upcoming opponent.

As both men made their way to the stage, Paul quickly walked over to Chavez Jr and stuck a note in front of the Mexican's name saying the 39-year-old is going to get 'knocked out.' Seconds later, Chavez Jr rushed over to Paul's side and attempted to gift the American a shirt that referenced the 'Problem Child' is going to be his daddy.
Quickly being made aware of the t-shirt, the 28-year-old threw the item of clothing in the direction of his upcoming opponent. Thankfully, security was not needed as both men quickly went to their seats after their brief scuffle.
Ahead of his clash with the Mexican boxing veteran, Paul stormed off an interview with Piers Morgan after the latter discussed Paul's upcoming fight and questioned. his boxing credentials. “I think you're a great YouTuber, a great influencer," said Morgan. "I admire what you try to do boxing, but I do think when you actually come up against a proper, serious boxer, and I suspect that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, maybe that person you, it could all come crashing down.” Paul brutally spat back: “I think the problem here Piers, is that you think that your opinion matters?”
Asked why he was doing his show if the host’s opinion did not matter, Paul taunted: “Oh, I'm just taking your audience to sell pay per views. I don't give a f**k about your show, dumb a**. This is a f****** business enterprise. Buy the pay per view on Saturday, June 28, me versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Thank you, tune in everybody!”
The 28-year-old then hung up the call, leaving a bemused Piers smiling and saying: “Cheers Jake, really enjoyed that, and good luck to Julio - knock him out for all of us will you?”
