Loose Women star Kaye Adams has opened up about her recent health scare after attending a Pilates class that left her "really scared" she was having a stroke.
Kaye, 62, explained that at a reformer Pilates class she went to over the weekend, she was hit by a wave of dizziness and lost her balance.
Opening up about the experience on the How to be 60 podcast, she shared that the "horrible" physical feelings made her fear the worst was happening.

"Do you know what I've had recently, it's the funniest thing," she started. "I went to my Pilates last Sunday, the reformer Pilates, I call it disco Pilates, because it's all bright lights and music.

"I got off the reformer and my goodness the world began to spin. Like a Tom and Jerry cartoon when there's birds going around the head. I thought, 'Oh my God I'm having a stroke'."
She added: "I was really scared actually, it was horrible. I just couldn't get my balance." Kaye continued to admit that what was actually happening was "really weird".
"I've checked it out and apparently it's vertigo," she shared. "Apparently it's crystals in your ear that get dislodged and you can be prone to it. It's a really weird thing."
According to the NHS, vertigo is a feeling that you or your environment are moving, when you're not. It can cause a loss of balance and dizziness, as Kaye described, as well as nausea.
Vertigo is thought to be a symptom of something bigger rather than a condition itself. The most common causes are inner ear problems, which can be helped with gentle movement and medications.
Kaye confessed that her vertigo attack was ironic as she'd previously been skeptical of a friend who suffered from it last year. "Funnily a friend of mine had told me last year that she had it and I remember at the time thinking that's a load of nonsense! And then when it happened I was like 'Oh I'm going to call her, because she knows how I feel'."

This is the second health scare Kaye has suffered from in recent years. In January 2024, she was terrified she had a tumour after a "traumatic" incident resulted in hearing loss.
Taking to Instagram, she explained that she couldn't hear anything in her right ear when getting ready for an episode of Loose Women. "I thought, "Oh my god, what has gone wrong?'" she said after rushing herself to A&E.
Kaye praised the nurses at the hospital for calming her down as she started to panic. They sent her for an audiogram which confirmed that the hearing loss was harmless, after which she said she was "embarrassed" by the situation.
"I am embarrassed to say this because, honestly, my head was going to some terrible terrible tumour, I am very melodramatic. But [the audiologist] pulled out the biggest bit of wax you have ever seen."
If untreated, a build up of ear wax can lead to temporary hearing loss, tinnitus, earaches and dizziness. It can also put you at a greater risk of infection. The NHS advises putting two or three drops of "medical grade olive or almond oil" in the affected ear three to four times a day for up to five days to treat it yourself.
