Manchester United's quest to improve Ruben Amorim's squad goes on with little over a month until the Premier League returns. And the Portuguese coach will soon have his squad in pre-season training ahead of a tour to the United States.
The summer transfer window got off to a quick start with the arrival of Matheus Cunha, but the Red Devils have not been able to build on that momentum. Only the arrival of teenager star Diego Leon has been confirmedsince with plenty of work to be done.
United have failed to trim their squad thus far too. Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof departed at the end of their contracts, while Jonny Evans moved to a coaching role but Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho all remain at Old Trafford.
But the club still hope to strengthen in their forward positions despite being unable to secure an agreement for Bryan Mbeumo thus far. An out-and-out striker may not go amiss for Amorim too.
Mirror Football takes a look at the latest news and transfer rumours.

United eye free agentManchester United are ready to sign free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a cost-effective solution for Ruben Amorim’s squad. United are in the process of rebuilding their squad the Portuguese coach is said to believe that Calvert-Lewin would be a useful addition alongside more expensive signings.
Despite a poor injury record, reports claim that United believe the forward has the qualities required to bolster Amorim’s squad. United are ready to offer Calvert-Lewin a contract which would include bonuses tied into appearances as they eye a handy squad player.
Calvert-Lewin left Everton after nine years at the end of June and is looking for a new club. The 28-year-old striker scored 71 goals in 273 appearances for the Toffees after joining them from Sheffield United in 2016.
Any hope Manchester United had of landing Viktor Gyokeres appears to be over as Arsenal close in on deal for the Sweden striker. The Gunners are advancing in talks with Sporting Lisbon as the Portuguese side granted the striker additional time off as they seek to resolve his future.
Andrea Berta had been progressing deals for Gyokeres and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, but the former now appears to have won out as Arsenal move closer to finally signing a striker.
The two clubs have yet to agree on a fee but it is understood Arsenal and Gyokeres have already agreed personal terms. And with the player prioritising a move to Arsenal, having rejected other suitors, it now looks likely that a deal will be completed.

Juventus are preparing to make an offer to Manchester United for Jadon Sancho. The Serie A side are said to have already held talks with the winger, who is reportedly open to life in Italy.
Per Corriere dello Sport, Juve are willing to allow Douglas Luiz to move in the opposite direction to aid a move. Sancho is said to have been yet to agree personal terms but is willing to reduce his salary.
The Old Lady is said to also be considering a move for Tottenham's Yves Bissouma.
