Sabrina Carpenter has just released her seventh studio album, Man's Best Friend, and the singer has written some of her spiciest lyrics yet in the new record.
Known for her provocative lyrics and on-stage movements, Sabrina, 26, hasn't shied away from dishing out the sexy scenarios in her song writing on her latest album, despite her recent backlash.
Her Man's Best Friend album and its controversial cover art have generated significant media attention and debate, with alternative artwork later released in response to the unexpected public reaction.
The original album cover for Man's Best Friend featured an image of the singer on her knees as a man pulled on her blonde locks. Thousands of women felt the album cover was ‘exploiting the male gaze" and "regressing womanhood".

In the end, Sabrina and her team created a number of alternative album covers which they felt would be more suitable to mainstream audiences and fans. When it comes to the lyrics in her new album, Sabrina didn't hold back when exposing her sexual fantasies and erotic desires.
The Please, Please, Please, singer has admitted that her lyrics are sometimes “really bold” and not always something you “want to sing in front of other people.” However that was very much part of the appeal she hoped would charm the masses. “It's like it's almost TMI,” she remarked.
When Sabrina dropped the tracklist for Man’s Best Friend, fans immediately began speculating about the hidden meanings behind each title. While some, like Manchild, are pretty literal, others aren’t what they seem.
One standout track quickly gaining traction is My Man on Willpower. But what exactly does that phrase mean?
In the song, Sabrina describes a boyfriend relying on "willpower", specifically, the willpower to refrain from sex. She sings: "My man on his willpower is something I don't understand / He fell in love with self-restraint and now it's getting out of hand / He used to be literally obsessed with me / I'm suddenly the least sought-after girl in the land."
The tone of the tune seems playful yet piercing as Sabrina paints the picture of a relationship where affection has been replaced by discipline. The second verse goes deeper as she sings: "He's busy, he's working, he doesn't have time for me / My slutty pajamas not tempting him in the least.

"What in the f****ed-up romantic, dark comedy is this nightmare lately? / Yeah, okay, okay, he's on his big journey to find / A little zest of life and his sense of purpose, but why?"
The punchline then comes in as Sabrina sings: "I'm right here (Right here) / I'm waving (Hello) / The joke can be over now / You're so silly, baby."
While Sabrina has not publicly unpacked the meaning behind the song, it was co-written with Amy Allen, Jack Antonoff, and John Ryan and it appears to be already resonating with listeners as one of the album’s emotional tracks.
In her already released track, Manchild, Sabrina uses lots of clever wordplay on the to slam an ex-boyfriend who seemingly never grew up into a man and someone who is lacking emotional depth.
"Why so sexy if so dumb? / And how survive the earth so long? / If I’m not there, it won’t get done / I choose to blame your mom," she sings in the lead track on the new album.
Tears is perhaps the most sexually overt song on the new album as Sabrina hasn't shied away from her controversial way of writing.
In the second track on the album, she sings: "I get wet at the thought of you / Being a responsible guy / Treating me like you’re supposed to do / Tears run down my thighs."
In Sugar Talking, the blonde bombshell makes it clear what she wants, and that she wants it now. Sabrina teases that she only wants this man for one thing, and in she's not interested in what he's got to say.
She sings: "Put your loving where your mouth is / Yeah your paragraphs mean sh** to me / Get your sorry and a** to mine."

On her track titled Never Getting Laid, Sabrina writes about the end of a relationship and how she doesn't feel bitter towards her ex. The only thing that she hopes for is that he will never be able to get a girl into bed again.
"I just hope you get agoraphobia someday / And all your days are sunny / From your window pane / Wish you a lifetime full of happiness / And a forever of never getting laid."
Sabrina's track House Tour is arguably one of her most explicit songs yet - and the lyrics come face value.
She sings: "Do you want the house tour? / I could take you to the first, second, third floor / And I promise none of this is a metaphor / I just want you to come inside / Baby what’s mine is now yours / I just want you to come inside / But never enter through the back door."
Sabrina is next scheduled to perform at the fan-voted MTV Video Music Awards, which air September 7 on MTV and Paramount+. This year the singer is up for a whopping eight awards in total, including video of the year (for Manchild), best pop artist, best pop (for Manchild), and best album.
