Strictly Come Dancing 'put plans in place' as Dianne Buswell competes while pregnant

Pregnant Dianne Buswell, who is expecting her first child with Joe Sugg, has some strict rules in place that she must follow due to still taking part in the BBC ’s Strictly Come Dancing, following her spectacular win last year.

YouTuber Joeand Strictly professional dancer Dianne are getting ready to grow their family, as they took to Instagram last week to announce that they were expecting a baby.

As well as revealing the huge news, they also shared the gender of the baby as Joe said: "Our little baby boy, we cannot wait to meet you".

Fans were left confused about how Strictly was going to work with Dianne being pregnant, and now an insider has revealed that ‘producers have a plan in place’.

Dianne has been paired with 66-year-old Neighbours star Stefan Dennis, who could go all the way to the final of the show.

An insider has now revealed to The Sun: “Everyone at Strictly is absolutely thrilled by Dianne and Joe’s news, particularly as they met and were seen falling in love during the course of the show in 2018.

“This is being thought of as the first Strictly baby because never before has a professional knowingly been pregnant while dancing on the contest. Producers have plans in place, and there are several pros who could easily step in and take over at a moment’s notice, because the show must go on.”

They added: “On Saturday night’s show her bump was already very noticeable, though it certainly didn’t seem to hold her back physically, most notably when she was lifted high on the shoulders of fellow pro Kai Widdrington as she held up the Glitterball.

"The BBC’s primary concern is the health and wellbeing of Dianne and they fully intend to support her through the process with regular check-ins from the welfare team.”

Ahead of the new series, Dianne gave a sweet nod to her baby boy in a promotional shot of herself turned with her back to the camera. Dianne was sporting a sparkling silver dress with blue tassels. She accessorised the look with a silver choker and blue and silver drop earrings, as well as blue eyeliner, which some fans have suspected is a sweet nod to her unborn baby boy.

Dianne posted the photo on her Instagram and wrote in the caption: "There she goes again officially about to kick of my 9th season. Strictly launch show is on tonight 18.40 @bbcone @bbcstrictly who’s tuning in @jessieefromtheblock".

Fellow Strictly pros and fans were quick to gush over Dianne and her recent baby news in the comments. Amy Dowden, who is set to return again this year, wrote: "a very special pic xxxx".

Another added: "The blue confetti, outfit and eyeliner so so gorg!!" As a third gushed: "Another year of support for the BEST person and now her lil boy can’t wait to see all the dances and magic you create as always".
