Taylor Swiftfans have been left convinced she's hit out at her ex Joe Alwyn in her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The pop star released her 12th album today, with fanstrawling through each lyric to work out references to her personal life.
She has detailed her love for fiancé Travis Kelce on the album following their engagement over the summer. And Taylor also didn't mince her words on Actually Romantic where she appeared to reference her feud with Charli XCX.
However, some fans have been left convinced she's now sung about her ex Joe. Joe and Taylor split in April 2023 after six years together and at the time, a source insisted the breakup wasn't dramatic.

Speaking to Page Six, they explained the relationship had "just ran its course". In her new track, The Fate of Ophelia, Taylor caught the attention of fans as she "pledged allegiance" to a love interest who "dug her out of her grave".
Taylor sings that the person, which fans believe is Travis, "saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia". In Shakespeare's Hamlet, he coldly ends his romance with Ophelia and tells her to "get thee to a nunnery".
Hamlet also goes onto mistakenly murder her father Polonius. Tragically, Ophelia drowns in what is implied as suicide following her intense grief.
Swifties have been left certain the track is about how Travis swooped in following Taylor's split from Joe, who appears in a new movie adaptation of Hamlet.
The actor is also starring in film Hamnet, which is about Shakespeare and his wife following the death of their young son. One fan said: "Mind you joe alwyn is starring on Hamlet this year and tay wrote The Fate of Ophelia."
Another added: "I know Taylor choosed the fate of ophelia as a single because Joe is on Hamnet and Hamlet, but i just cant prove it." Someone else commented: "And when are we gonna clock that taylor wrote fate of ophelia because joe is in a new hamlet adaptation and hamnet."
A fourth wrote: "The fate of ophelia is sooo good and iconic bc she romanticized joe and her being depressed together for so long and now she’s finally admitting yeah that’s relationship was gonna kill me. and she rediscovered that happy side of herself with travis."
Joe has remained tight lipped on his romance with Taylor but he did describe it as a "hard thing to navigate". He told the Sunday Times last year: "What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it's suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in."
Taylor's previous album the Tortured Poets Department had left fans thinking she'd made a dig at Joe. It appeared to be a brutal swipe at the group chat Joe shared with his pals Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, titled Tortured Men's Club.
