A chilli sauce that is sold in some UK supermarkets has been urgently recalled after it was found to contain undeclared peanuts.
Laoganma Black Bean Chilli Sauce is stocked in Sainsbury's where it features in the world foods aisle. The affect product comes in a jar size of 280g, has the batch code 18232 and best before date of March 8, 2026.
product could pose a risk to anyone who is allergic to peanuts. Peanut allergy symptoms can include skin reactions, nausea and vomiting, and in severe cases, can cause life-threatening anaphylaxis.

A recall notice has been published by the Food Standards Agency. It reads: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
"For further information, please contact Fortune Foods customer service team at info@fortunefoods.co.uk."

A separate notice by Fortune Foods, which manufactures the product, said: "We deeply regret this incident and are taking immediate steps to strengthen our labelling and quality control procedures to prevent a recurrence.
"For further information or assistance, please contact our customer service team at info@fortunefoods.co.uk. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or concern this may cause and thank you for your understanding."
For all product recalls, you can check the Food Standards Agency and Chartered Trading Standards Institute websites. You should also notice recall notices in stores if they've pulled a product from shelves.
Other recalls you should be aware of include Lidl pulling its own-brand hash browns over fears they contain pieces of metal. This means they could cause a choking hazard.
The recall affects frozen Harvest Basket Hash Browns in size 750g with the batch number 5144L and best before date of May 24, 2027.
Lidl also recalled batches of its fruit and nut bars over fears they could contain pieces of plastic. The supermarket has recalled Alesto Raw Fruit and Nut Bars in various flavours.
The recall applies to all stock with a best before date of December 2025 with the batch code L24337, and best before date of November 2025 with the batch code L24316.
Meanwhile, health foods brand Grape Tree has recalled its Raw Unsalted Macadamia Nuts because Shiga toxin-producing E.coli was found in one of its batches.
The product that has been recalled has the batch code G41 5 101 250610 and a best before date of July 11, 2026. The pack size is 250g. E.coli infections can cause diarrhea, stomach cramps, vomiting, and fever.
