BPSC Exam 2025: If you are preparing for the 71st Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), it is crucial to pay attention to the following updates. The examination is scheduled for September 13, and the commission has introduced several new and stringent regulations. Familiarizing yourself with these rules is essential to ensure your efforts do not go in vain.
Arriving at the Exam Center
Arrive Early:
It is mandatory to reach the examination center at least two and a half hours prior to the exam. Entry will commence at 9:30 AM, and candidates will not be permitted to enter after 11 AM. Plan your journey accordingly to avoid delays caused by traffic or other unforeseen circumstances. Once the examination begins, candidates will not be allowed to exit the center until the exam concludes.
Prohibited Items
Zero-Tolerance Policy:
This year, BPSC has enforced a strict policy against electronic devices. Candidates are prohibited from bringing mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, electronic pens, pagers, or any similar gadgets into the examination venue. Violation of this rule will result in severe consequences, including disqualification from the exam and a ban on participating in any BPSC examination for the next five years.
Negative Marking Policy
Careful Answering Required:
This exam will implement a negative marking system. For each incorrect answer, one-third (1/3) of the marks will be deducted. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid guessing answers you are unsure about. When filling out the OMR sheet, ensure you do so accurately in one attempt. Using markers, correction fluid, blades, or erasers to alter answers will also be penalized.
Rumor Control Measures
Consequences for Spreading Misinformation:
The commission has issued a warning against candidates who disseminate false information or rumors regarding the exam. Such individuals may face exclusion from the BPSC recruitment process for up to three years. Additionally, those found engaging in unfair practices will be subject to legal action under the 'Bihar Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.'
Exam Schedule and Locations
Exam Timing and Centers:
The examination will take place from 12 PM to 2 PM, with a total of 912 centers established across 37 districts in Bihar. This indicates a significant number of candidates will be participating in the exam simultaneously.
