Interestingly, Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in hosting the auction, amid its recent heavy investments into sports including cricket.

However, no final decision on the venue has been made yet.

The IPL franchises are awaiting the announcement of retention rules before the mega auction.

BCCI has informed them about a potential delay in this announcement, causing concern among some franchise officials regarding their preparation time for the auction.

These rules are expected to be announced by month-end, giving teams approximately two months to strategize for the auction.

The deadline for teams to announce their retentions is likely around November 15.
