As the Bihar assembly elections approach, political rhetoric is intensifying. Independent MP and Congress ally Pappu Yadav made strong remarks in a recent interview, particularly targeting Raj Thackeray over the ongoing Hindi-Marathi language dispute. He warned of aggressive retaliation if Biharis continue to be targeted outside the state.
Open Challenge to Raj ThackerayAddressing the issue of Hindi speakers facing hostility in Maharashtra, Pappu Yadav declared:
“We will go to Mumbai and confront Raj Thackeray. No one who threatens Hindi-speaking people or disrespects Bihar and Jharkhand will be spared.”
He further warned:
Biharis Targeted Across India“I will ensure not a single Marathi institution operates in Bihar. I will shut them all down.”
Recalling incidents of violence against Biharis, Pappu Yadav said:
Criticism of Prashant Kishor and CM Ambitions“In Gujarat, people from Bihar were attacked. Bricks were hurled at me; someone even tried to bomb us. Similar incidents occurred in Assam and Manipur. Wherever such attacks happen, I make sure to respond.”
When asked about poll strategist Prashant Kishor, Yadav expressed skepticism over his political aspirations:
On Owaisi and Kanhaiya Kumar“He once said he wouldn’t contest elections, now he wants to become CM. First, try to get even one vote from your caste. Give up this dream of becoming Chief Minister.”
-
On Asaduddin Owaisi: Yadav downplayed his influence in Bihar’s Seemanchal region, stating Owaisi wouldn’t be able to divide votes or make any major electoral impact.
-
On Kanhaiya Kumar: He praised the former JNU leader, calling him a “genius” and expressing support for his potential candidacy in Bihar.
Speaking about the Mahagathbandhan protest where he was denied access to a vehicle, Pappu Yadav said:
“I will never share the stage with any arrogant Yuvraj. I fell and got injured. No one stopped me intentionally, but I won't align with leaders born into legacy politics.”
He clarified that his issue is with dynastic entitlement, not with any particular party.
