Kidney Stone
Beetroot contains high amount of oxalate, which can cause oxalate type kidney stone. If someone has kidney stone problem or has already had it, then they should limit or stop consuming beetroot completely.
Low blood pressure
Beetroot contains nitrates, which go into the body and turn into nitric oxide and reduce blood pressure by expanding the blood vessels. If someone already has a problem of hypotension i.e. low BP, then consuming beetroot can cause problems like dizziness, weakness and fainting.
Warning for diabetes patients
Beetroot contains natural sugar, but its glycemic index is more than medium. Consuming it in excess can increase the blood sugar level. Diabetes patients should take it in balanced quantities and it would be better to consult a doctor.
Iron overload
Beetroot contains good amount of iron, but people who have iron overload in the body, i.e. hemochromatosis problem, consuming beetroot can harm them.
People with allergies or sensitive stomachs
Some people may have problems like allergies, skin reactions, gas or diarrhea from beetroot. If these symptoms appear, you should contact a doctor immediately.
