Islamabad: At least 11 people were killed and 8 injured during a clash between two tribes in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The clash took place in Kurram district, where two people were seriously injured after firing. Senior official Javedullah Khan said that several vehicles were attacked amid the violence, causing casualties. According to Khan, the injured have been rushed to the hospital and efforts are being made to establish peace in the area. Meanwhile, tribal elders have arrived in Kurram for a peace agreement.

According to the report, 'jirga' meetings are held regularly to maintain peace and stability in the region. Last month too, clashes broke out between Shia and Sunni communities in the same area due to land dispute, in which 25 people were killed. There has been tension between Shia and Sunni tribes in Kurram for decades. Also, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in Balochistan claimed responsibility for an attack on a coal mine that killed more than 20 people, including Pakistani and Afghan nationals. Heavy weapons, rocket launchers, and grenades were used in the attack. The BLA has claimed 30 deaths and 18 injuries in the incident and said that attacks will continue until the army withdraws from the province.

Balochistan is Pakistan's largest and sparsely populated province, where armed movements have been going on for a long time. The BLA is the largest organization active in the region and has been declared a terrorist group by Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Recently, the organization claimed responsibility for an attack on Chinese citizens near Pakistan's largest airport. Two Chinese citizens were killed and one injured in that attack. According to local reports, 10 people were injured and several vehicles were damaged in the blast.
