On tonight's episode of , viewers witnessed a touching moment as a guest was moved to tears by the "beautiful" restoration of her cherished item.
In the Wednesday (April 16) instalment of the beloved BBC series, Instructor Ena and her star pupil Ellen brought in a treasured life-sized model horse from their riding school for disabled individuals. The model, named Hector, is used to help students learn how to approach and tack up a horse but had seen better days due to extensive use.
Hector holds a special place at the school and has been particularly beneficial to Ellen, who lives with a condition impacting her hearing and balance.
Expert restorers Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell, affectionately known as the 'bear ladies', tackled the project with gusto, calling upon Dominic Chinea to assist in reinforcing Hector's worn hooves with fiberglass.
The team meticulously repaired his mane and missing patches of fur, and even devised a clever way to give him a more welcoming appearance, reports .
After their hard work, the reveal was an emotional affair, with Ena and Ellen overwhelmed by the sight of their beloved Hector, now fully restored.
Upon their arrival at the barn, Julie eagerly inquired: "Have you missed him?" To which Ena responded: "Yes. Everyone has missed him."
Julie then asked: "What are you hoping we have done." Ellen's heartfelt wish was simple, as she requested: "I would just like him to be less scary." Upon setting eyes on the horse, Ena was visibly moved, fighting back tears as she marvelled: "Beautiful."
Overwhelmed by emotion, she exclaimed: "Wow. Oh my goodness he definitely looks friendly and he actually looks so real." Gently stroking the horse, Ena remarked: "He is actually so soft and you've put a lovely colour dye on him. His eyes are beautiful."
Tears flowed as Ena expressed gratitude and said: "Ladies, thank you, and his feet have been fixed." Julie indicated: "It was Dom who fixed his feet."
To which Ena responded: "Well, he looks like a million dollars and I'm just loving the markings you have put on him. They are so real looking."
Amanda chimed in with heartfelt sentiment, adding: "We've all fallen in love with Hector and thank you so much for trusting us with him."
