Those on the hunt for fresh, glowing and healthy looking skin likely have plenty of skincare in their arsenal. It can, however, be over complicated at times with the array of information out there and shoppers can be left down money for products that aren't worth their time.
Clarins is one of those brands that shoppers know is well loved and can be trusted. The brand, which was founded in 1954, is known for its skincare products and offers a range of options that promote beauty and well-being. Shoppers can now enjoy an extra offer at Boots, as their Clarins is £70 - and when shoppers spend £70 on a Clarins product, shoppers can pick up a complimentary gift of five Clarins essentials worth £75, including the UV Plus, Supra Lift and Curl Mascara, Velvet Cleansing Milk, Hydra-Essentiel Cream and Soothing Aftersun Balm.
The Clarins Extra-Firming cream itself is described as a 2-in-1 day cream enriched with 12 plant extracts for both skin-firming and skin enhancing benefits. Formulated with Clarins firming experts, it combines kangaroo plant and mitracarpus which is said to target loss of firmness and the appearance of wrinkles.
The skin enhancing benefits then come from Clarins glow plus complex which combines super-fruits including goji berry, paprika extract, apricot oil and acerola seeds. These help stimulate the skin's energy-producing process while nourishing skin vitality. The cream is suitable for a range of skin types - normal, oily, combination and dry and to use it customers should apply in the morning to clean and dry skin on the face and neck.
However, if Clarin's isn't the brand for everyone, they could try some alternatives such as from LookFantastic for £37 which comes in a 50ml tub and is described as a lightweight facial moisturiser formulated to deliver up to 24 hours of hydration to all skin types. Another choice could be the from Elemis for £48 which is a vitamin-rich moisturiser packed with superfoods and matcha tea to replenish skin with hydration. Of course, neither of these purchases will clinch shoppers the free gift from Boots, however.
The Clarins cream has got a high 4.3 out of 5 star rating from a total of 2,215 reviews on Boots' website. One customer said: "Love this product. Makes my face shine and seems to remove some lines."
Another said: "I am a woman of 69. I was advised to try Extra Firming Energy by my beauty therapist. It has the same rich feel as the Extra Firming on application, but my skin felt softer and smoother, even at the end of the day. I highly recommend this product."
"Seeing noticeable differences in brightness and overall texture in just a week," said another happy shopper.
With skincare however, different brands may not agree with everyone and others did share opposing opinions. "Very thick moussy texture which makes it tricky to apply," one shopper said. "Having used multi active day for years, I'm not a fan of this."
Another wrote: "My skin doesn't feel moisturised. It feels dry."
Despite this, for Clarins lovers or those who want to try a new skincare brand and grab themselves a free gift, the may be ideal.
