The first pictures of Prince Harry's solo trip to Angola have been released, as the Duke is set to recreate an iconic moment after his late mother, Princess Diana. The Duke of Sussex travelled to the south African country on Tuesday, July 15, to walk through minefields in a bid to to reportedly end the speculation about a reconciliation with his father and to encourage more donations from the Angolan government to clear the remaining landmines, according to reports.
Harry is in Angola with the HALO Trust, a UK-based international charity working to create working to clear landmines and other explosive devices left behind by conflict. The charity is linked to his mother, the late Princess of Wales, who, also in partnership with HALO, walked through an active minefield in Huambo in January 1997, just months before her death in August.
The prince met today with Angola's president, João Lourenço, and the CEO of the HALO Trust, James Cowan.
Following their meeting and the release of the first images from Harry's trip, Mr Cowan said: "It was an honour to have an audience with His Excellency President Lourenço today alongside Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex to discuss HALO's continued demining efforts in Angola.
"We thanked him for his extraordinary dedication to and investment in the vision of a mine-free country, and he expressed his intention to continue to support our work with a further significant contract for the next three years.
"Our partnership is strengthened and renewed, and we are grateful to President Lourenço for his leadership on this critical issue."
The duke's wife, Meghan Markle, did not join him on the trip due to security concerns.

A source told the Mail: "The Duke won't let his wife go to England over security concerns, so there was no chance he'd allow her to go to Angola to walk across landmines."
