GB News was halted for a breaking news announcement in "bad news" for Keir Starmer and theLabour party. Emily Carver and Charlie Peters interrupted the show to announce that Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana have formally announced the launch of their new political party, which will be called 'Your Party'.
Political Editor Christopher Hope told Emily and Charlie: "The name is TBC, at the moment it is Your Party, like Your M&S I suppose, but that will be changed as the party develops.
"In the last five minutes they have asked people to sign up for the inaugural conference, where the members will decide the party's direction, model of leadership and its policies, needed to transform society." He added: "'This is how we build a democratic movement that can take on the rich and powerful and win'. This new idea has been emerging for a few weeks after Sultana quit the Labour Party.
"Corbyn was said to be upset by this announcement as he was not aware of it, but now it seems they have got their ducks in a row and launching a party.
"This is bad news I think for the Labour Party, it could take one or two points off them in the polls, and will have an impact on the Green party. It could actually strengthen Reforms lead in the polls, so big news here in the left of politics.
"It looks to me like this could be a concern for the Labour Party, it could support Reform and it shows how we're going towards a five party politics. If this party can take 10 or 12% in the polls, that will be a problem for Labour in the same way Reform is a problem for the Tory Party."
The statement from Sultana and Corbyn read: "Our movement is made up of people of all faiths and none. The great dividers want you to think that the problems in our society are caused by migrants or refugees. They're not.
"They are caused by an economic system that protects the interests of corporations and billionaires. It is ordinary people who create the wealth - and it is ordinary people who have the power to put it back where it belongs.
"It's time for a new kind of political party. One that is rooted in our communities, trade unions and social movements. One that builds power in all regions and nations. One that belongs to you."
