It was announced on Wednesday, July 9, that Christian Horner has been sacked from his role as Red Bull Racing Team Principal, ending his two-decade reign at the top of Formula One. In a bombshell statement, Red Bull confirmed: "Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect from today and has appointed Laurent Mekies as CEO of Red Bull Racing."
Now, a source close to the family has revealed that wife Geri, who has stood loyally by Christian's side through months of scandal, is privately reeling from the news. "Geri is going to stand by her man and is supporting him fully," an insider told The Mirror.
"Image means so much to her, but behind closed doors, she isn't happy about the attention this brings," They added.

The former Spice Girl and her husband have endured a difficult twelve years, after allegations of inappropriate behaviour were made against Christian by a female Red Bull employee in 2024.
Though he denied the claims and was cleared following a three-week investigation, the controversy made headlines, particularly when alleged private messages were leaked just days after the verdict.
At the time, Geri put on a brave face, stepping out hand-in-hand with her husband at the Bahrain Grand Prix in a united front. But now, with Christian's abrupt exit it seems the spotlight is back on the couple's private life.
"Geri knows this will open old wounds. People will connect this back to the leaked messages and everything that happened last year. She's dreading it," the source revealed.
The couple, who married in 2015, share an eight-year-old son, Montague. Geri is also mum to daughter Bluebell, 18, while Christian has daughter Olivia from a previous relationship.
Today's announcement included a brief statement from Red Bull executive Oliver Mintzlaff, who thanked Christian for his "outstanding contribution" to the team.
But behind the polished display, speculation is mounting over what really triggered Christian's departure and how it will affect his marriage.
When the scandal first broke, insiders told The Sun that Geri had been "shocked" by the claims and had "serious questions" about her husband.
