A Harry Potter extra has lifted the lid on what it was really like to work with Emma Watson on set. Samantha Clinch, a TikToker who had a minor role in the Harry Potter films, has shared her experience of working with the actress who played Hermione Granger.

Samantha revealed: "She was such a nice girl, but that wasn't the narrative growing up."

In 2017, rumours were rife that Emma was difficult and demanding on set, but Samantha staunchly defended the star. She questioned: "Why would they paint her out to be a diva? Why would they paint her out to be all demanding and stroppy? " Samantha insisted that despite on-set whispers about Emma, her personal experience with the star was entirely positive, describing her as "lovely".

Fans have rallied around Emma Watson in the comments section. One supporter said: "She just knew who she was before they did."

Another added: "Even on set? So she had to deal with that at work as a young girl/woman? " Some believe the criticism Emma faced had deeper implications, reports the Mirror.

One commenter suggested: "Probably as the primary female character actress, she had the usual gender biases about women hogging conversation but doubled because she was smart."

Another fan echoed: "It's because she's a woman! " Samantha appeared as a Hogwarts student in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and later as Eloise Midgen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

In the fourth instalment, she can be seen in the background during a class with Ron Weasley, and her name is also mentioned in a chat between Ron and Hermione at the Yule Ball.

In another TikTok clip, Samantha discloses that Daniel Radcliffe had sent her flowers. They filmed a waltz scene together for The Goblet of Fire, but it was ultimately left on the cutting room floor.

Samantha further shared that working with Daniel was always a delight as he was consistently kind and considerate.
