Nevertheless, following three outings as Geralt, leading man Henry Cavill chose to step away from the programme, paving the way for Hemsworth to assume the character.

Liam Hemsworth hails from Australia and grew up in Melbourne with mother Leonie van Os, a writer, and father Craig Thompson, who worked in social services.

During his secondary school years, his family moved to Phillip Island, located southeast of Melbourne.

He's notably the youngest sibling of two acting brothers: Marvel's Thor performer Chris Hemsworth and Westworld's Luke Hemsworth.

The three maintain a tight relationship, despite occasional brotherly competition, with Liam describing Chris as his "hero" in a GQ interview.

"He's honestly my last call," he revealed during the 2019 conversation.

"When I find myself in a position where I'm 50-50 about a script, then I call Chris.
