Ruben Amorim will have wanted more than two major signings ahead of the summer transfer window, but Manchester United may not be able to facilitate further arrivals. Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo undoubtedly upgrade the Portuguese head coach's options, yet he is also believed to want a new goalkeeper, midfielder, and striker.
It is public knowledge by now that United must sell to buy after splashing over £130million on the Premier League duo. Marcus Rashford's loan switch to Barcelona saves around £17m in wages, while the Red Devils have also generated around £20m in sell-on fees from other deals.
But Amorim will need to offload other outcasts, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia to make space for more recruits.
Ahead of this morning's pre-season friendly against West Ham United, Amorim hinted that he did not expect any more additions imminently.
That tends to be the hidden message when coaches suggest that they are happy with their current options.
He said: "I think our club at this moment, we need to be really careful when we sign a player.

"So if we have to start the season with this squad, I'm happy because all the players who are here want to be here."
Amorim would have been happy with three performances, in particular, as United beat West Ham 2-1 through a Bruno Fernandes brace.
Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo displayed a cohesiveness in midfield that his side has missed since his arrival. It has been a rarity that United have looked fitter and sharper than Premier League opposition.
Meanwhile, Rasmus Hojlund impressed up front. The 22-year-old did not find the net, but he offered Amorim exactly what he needs from his striker.

He constantly found space behind the West Ham backline, always offered himself for the ball and linked up with his fellow attackers in slick moves.
Should the trio continue to shine in pre-season, Amorim can ease up on his priority plan to add a midfielder and striker to his squad this summer.
United could then focus on a goalkeeper, with Andre Onana still out of action through injury and Altay Bayindir yet to convince with his performances.
That said, should the M16 giants successfully cash in on Garnacho and the remainder of the 'bomb squad' it would not be a surprise if more competition arrived.
