It is no surprise to see , and Scottie Scheffler at the top of the 's all-time career money leaders list. The trio have won titles and majors galore, amassing mind-blowing fortunes in the process.
But even for those who have never finished first on the PGA Tour, there is a healthy living to be made. In fact, nine golf stars without an overall victory on their CV have made eight figures in prize money.
Here, Express Sport takes you through every one of them...
Briny Baird (£10.2m)
An active professional between 1995 and 2014, the American finished runner-up six times in 379 PGA Tour events, including after an agonising six-hole play-off at the 2011 Frys.com Open.
Brian Davis (£10.3m)
Born in London, Davis was a prolific competitor on the PGA Tour between 2006 and 2015. He finished second five times in a three-year period and lost a play-off to Jim Furyk at the Verizon Heritage in 2010.
Patrick Rodgers (£11.8m)
Still only 32 years old, Rodgers has made a hefty chunk of cash in his decade as a professional. The American star has had a number of near-misses and a whopping 50 top-25 finishes without ever hauling an overall victory over the line.
Cameron Young (£12.3m)
Young has been a fixture at majors in recent years, with top-three finishes at the PGA Championship and The Open since the start of 2022. He was awarded PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2021/22, and though he has not won an event yet, there is still plenty of time for the 27-year-old to get off the mark.
Alex Noren (£12.5m)
The Swede is a serial winner on the DP World Tour and a Ryder Cup victor, but he has never gone all the way in 137 stateside starts. Noren has finished runner-up a handful of times, including after a six-hole play-off with Jason Day at the 2018 Farmers Insurance Open.
Cameron Tringale (£13.3m)
The Californian, 37, consistently found himself towards the top of PGA Tour leaderboards before defecting to LIV Golf in 2022. Tringale surpassed £1.5m in earnings for a single season three times before his Saudi switch.
Denny McCarthy (£13.4m)
Known for his top-level putting, McCarthy has made the lucrative FedEx Cup play-offs in each of the last four seasons. The 31-year-old American has twice choked what would have been his maiden win, bogeying the 72nd hole at Muirfield Village before losing a play-off to Viktor Hovland, and losing another play-off to Akshay Bhatia at the Valero Texas Open less than a year later.
Byeong-hun An (£14.5m)
Known as 'Ben', An has notched top-25 finishes in each of the four majors and picked up a huge wedge of PGA Tour prize money without ever lifting an American title himself. The South Korean has five runner-up finishes on the PGA Tour, but those disappointments are offset by huge DP World Tour wins at the 2015 BMW PGA Championship and the Genesis Championship on Sunday.
Tommy Fleetwood (£19.2m)
The ultimate nearly man, Fleetwood has banked almost £20m in PGA Tour prize money via five runner-ups and 33 top-10 finishes. In 127 starts, he has only missed the cut 21 times. The Englishman's most notable near-miss came at the US Open six years ago, when he carded a final-round 63 but still finished one shot back from Brooks Koepka.
