Outlander's Sam Heughan has been showered with praise from fans and co-stars after achieving a significant goal.
The Scottish star, famed for his role as on the hit Starz series, has raised a staggering £40,000 for Blood Cancer UK. His fundraising efforts were part of his participation in the London Marathon, where he completed a gruelling 26.2 miles.
, who also founded the fitness community My Peak Challenge, was not alone in his marathon efforts; he was joined by fellow 'Peakers' to conquer the distance.
Following his sixth marathon completion, the actor took to Instagram to share his triumph with his 4.4 million followers. He posted celebratory images from the event, including a close-up of his well-earned gold medal.
He gave a special mention to the @mypeakchallenge Cheer Zone, the overwhelming online support from Peakers, Hugo and Lisa, and the entire @bloodcancer_uk team for their encouragement and warm welcome at the finish line, complete with refreshments and smiles.
"So proud, we have raised almost £40,000 to help fund and raise #bloodcancerawareness. Thank you! - oh, got a high five from fellow Scot @gordongram on the course too!" he added, acknowledging celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who was present to support his children Megan and Jack.
Tim Downie, who portrayed Governor Tryon in Outlander, was among the co-stars who commented to express their admiration and support for Sam's accomplishment.
"Absolute legend. Incredible," he penned, accompanied by applauding and heart emojis, while Romann Berrux, who plays Fergus in Outlander, simply declared: "GOAT." (sic)
Nell Hudson, who portrays Laoghaire MacKenzie in Outlander, responded with clapping emojis, while renowned coach Thomas DeLauer remarked: "Atta boy!"
The official My Peak Challenge account chimed in: "What an incredible day! Thank you to our amazing community for supporting @bloodcancer_uk and Coach Sam." (sic)
There's still time for people to contribute to Sam's page, which has now amassed over £40,500 for Blood Cancer UK.
The story on the page states: "In honour of 10 years of My Peak Challenge, Sam is running the London Marathon 2025 - and he's dedicating every mile to Blood Cancer UK, our official charity partner for this milestone year.
"This run is about more than just crossing a finish line. It's about pushing boundaries, celebrating resilience, and standing up for those affected by blood cancer. Every mile Sam runs is a reminder that together we can transform challenges into change.
"You can sponsor a mile to fuel Sam's run and help us raise life-changing funds for research, support, and hope."
It then proceeds to detail what each donation amount signifies on the day, before adding: "Whether it's mile 3 or mile 23, your donation propels him forward - and brings us all closer to defeating blood cancer sooner.
"We'll give shout outs to Peakers on social media as Sam progresses on the day, and you might even receive a thank you from Sam himself!"
"1 in 3 people don't survive their blood cancer and we lose them in the first five years after diagnosis. Too many people are dying from the most complex and aggressive forms of blood cancer - blood cancers that are the hardest to treat.
"We believe it's possible to achieve significant shifts in survival, by making sure that all patients have access to the right drug at the right time.
"Our focus on the hardest to treat blood cancers will accelerate progress towards our goal of radical improvements in outcomes for these patients and bring forward the day when we beat blood cancer. Join us in celebrating a decade of purpose, progress, and Peaker power."
Sam has been active on social media following the wrap-up of Outlander season 7 back in January. Enthusiasts of the series are currently awaiting the next chapter, with season 8 not having a confirmed release date as of yet.
Moreover, the upcoming season is slated to be the grand finale of Outlander, which springs from Diana Gabaldon's bestselling saga, with a prequel series titled Outlander: Blood of My Blood set to debut this year.
Outlander season 7 is available to buy now on Digital and is streaming on MGM+ via Prime Video.
