Outlander star Sam Heughan has given his fans an update about his brand new project after finishing up on the final season of the Starz show.
Along with treading the boards later this year in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Macbeth opposite Lia Williams, the 45-year-old Jamie Fraser star will be lending his voice to factual film Clinging By A Claw.
Heughan narrates the documentary which raises the plight of the Scottish wildcat, which is on the brink of extinction and the attempts to save the creatures.
The star shared a poster of the Clinging By A Claw poster on his Instagram Stories.
The film features some breathtaking footage of the Scottish Highlands, the habitat of the endangered species.
He previously posted on Instagram about the film, writing: "Excited to take you on the iconic wildcat's journey back to the Scottish Highlands.
"Honoured to narrate this heartwarming feature-length documentary 'Clinging by a Claw', which is being brought you THIS AUTUMN by @SaveOurWildcats and @ScotlandTBP."
His Outlander co-star Caitríona Balfe posted a series of clapping hands emojis underneath in congratulations.
A trailer for Clinging By A Claw features Heughan's narration as he warns: "The wild cat is on the brink of extinction in Scotland. This enigmatic animal is clinging on a by a claw.
"But now, could there be fresh hope for wild cats?"
The teaser also includes various wildlife experts, including BBC Springwatch's Iolo Williams, discussing the crisis facing Scottish wildcats and the hope of their return to the Cairngorms National Park.
Additionally, there's footage of a team building habitats to encourage wildcats to return and breed.
The trailer ends on a hopeful note, with Williams saying: "Can you imagine walking through here, and you've the possibility, it's a small possibility, but you've got the possibility of bumping into a wildcat? That sends a frisson of electricity down my spine."
Clinging By A Claw has been made by Saving Wildcats and produced by Scotland: The Big Picture with support from the European Nature Trust.
The film will be shown at various cinemas across Scotland, including a screening at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh with a Q&A chaired by presenter and wildlife expert Chris Packham.
Clinging By A Claw is certainly a change of pace for Heughan, who is more well-known for his dramatic roles in the likes of Outlander, The Couple Next Door, SAS: Red Notice, and Bloodshot.
He also has his drinks line Sassenach Spirits and fitness business My Peak Challenge, the latter of which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
The star will next be appearing in the survivalist movie Everest, alongside Ewan McGregor, Mark Strong and Juno Temple.
