Queen Camilla's son has shared a major update as Her Majesty celebrates her 78th birthday. Taking to Instagram yesterday morning, the Queen's son Tom Parker-Bowles, 50, announced that he will be taking to the stage at a popular festival later this year.
Tom, who is best known for being a food writer and critic, has confirmed that he will be in Western Australia for the Pair'd festival, which will run from November 20 until November 23. At the festival, which celebrates wine and food in the Margaret River Region, Tom will be hosting the Perfect Pair'd stage at The Grand Tasting.
Queen Camilla's son will attend the New Wave Gathering at the festival, where he will host mini wine masterclasses.
He will do this alongside Nick Ryan, who is a senior wine writer for The Australian.
Tom announced the news online on Thursday, saying he is "excited" for the festival later this year.
The statement came on the same day as his mother Queen Camilla's birthday, with Her Majesty turning 78 yesterday.
While Tom has not publicly acknowledged this on social media, it is likely the food author will have contacted his mother privately to wish her a happy birthday.
Despite the fact she is now a Queen, Tom once said that his mother is still the same and has not changed, even though she now has the eyes of the world on her.
He told The Times not long ago: "My mother (Queen Camilla) loves walking and I love walking, so we just wander off together.
"She hasn't changed at all over the years: if you give her the sun and a book, she's perfectly happy."
It is unlikely that Camilla will go to Australia to support her son at the festival as a result of the long distance and the need to carry out royal duties in the UK. Her Majesty last visited Australia with King Charles, 76, last year to carry out a royal tour.
