Tom Brady, the NFL legend, continues to shine in his postgame Fox role alongside the lively team of Michael Strahan, Terry Bradshaw, Jimmie Johnson, and Howie Long.
Brady was on duty in Green Bay this week, providing analysis for a rain-soaked Packers-Detroit Lions clash. The iconic quarterback offered insights into Jordan Love's choice to play through injury amidst a significant score gap.
Strahan lightened the mood with a playful jab, remarking: "You know Tom, you talked about how we looked all night in this warm studio I believe it was raining out there. But your hair, that mousse is holding your hair up pretty good. You don't look like you're exactly soaking my friend?"
The broadcast swiftly showcased Brady, sporting an impeccably dry hairstyle, as Bradshaw's laughter echoed off-camera.
Embarking on his inaugural year of a staggering 10-year, $375million (£289m) deal with Fox inked in 2022, Brady's initial nine-game broadcasting stint has garnered a mixed reception.
He commentated on Detroit's impressive 24-14 triumph over Green Bay on Sunday, marking the Lions' third consecutive victory at Lambeau Field and their sixth in a row this season.
Lions signal-caller Jared Goff played a steady game, completing 18 of 22 throws for 145 yards and one touchdown. The scoring pass was caught by the talented fourth-year wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown on a critical fourth-and-goal situation.
After a lighthearted comment about hairstyles, Strahan probed Brady on the topic of Detroit's charismatic head coach, Dan Campbell. "Tom, you played for Belichick, who had a certain style with his players and got the most out of them. Dan Campbell has a different style [but still] gets the most out of his guys. Is Dan Campbell the kind of coach you could play for?" he queried.
Brady responded enthusiastically about Detroit's leader. "You know what, I would have loved to have him as a coach, I would have loved to have him as a team-mate," Brady shared.
"He's the exact kind of guy you want: selfless, determined, resilient. He's got this way about him...he's a great leader. I believe leaders do two things. They're curious and open to learning, and they continue to care about the people that they work with.
"Coach Campbell obviously cares about his players. He adapts to the games, he adapts to the practice weeks, and he's incredibly genuine. In a world of smoke and mirrors where many feed us nonsense, he clearly communicates the truth to the men he coaches, earning their love and respect."
