Castellfollit de la Roca, located in the Girona region, Catalonia, is considered one of the most picturesque villages in Spain.

The unique town, set between two rivers, "clings to the top of a spectacular basalt rock face, which has become one of the most widely used images of the region," Spain.info explained.

The village is famous for its idyllic cobbled streets, medieval houses and breathtaking views visitors can enjoy from the square viewpoint, right on the edge of the cliff.

Castellfollit is located in the Garrotxa Volcanic Area Nature Reserve, a beautiful protected natural area and the perfect place to visit during the autumn months.

He said: "It's not on a main road but you should seek it out. Perched high on a rocky ridge, it is a scenic gem. Plenty of dining options."

Another visitor explained: "Amazing village on a cliff. Medieval town. The ideal place to spend a couple of hours walking around... One of the most beautiful villages in Catalonia, a must!"

Holidaymaker Catas added: "Breathtaking views of a little village sitting on top of a cliff. Worthwhile the visit. You can go to the river and see the breathtaking view of the cliff and also visit the village from the top. I recommend you to stop by the Restaurante CAL GANCHO and take a coffee on its small terrace, you have the best view of the cliff from there."
