Bhojpuri Actress Amrita Pandey Found Dead | Shared Cryptic Post Shortly Before Suicide

Bhagalpur: Bhojpuri actress Amrita Pandey was found dead in her apartment in Bhagalpur, Bihar on Saturday after having committed suicide. Pandey reportedly hung herself using a saree to the ceiling fan of her residence.

No suicide note was found in her home. However, she had reportedly shared a cryptic message on social media a short while before her death, according to a report by the Free Press Journal. Amrita resided in Mumbai with her husband. She was reportedly visiting her relatives for a wedding in Bhagalpur, and decided to stay there for a few days.

According to the report, she stayed up late on Saturday, posted a cryptic note on her WhatsApp status, and was found dead in her room a few hours after she put out the post.

Her post on WhatsApp read, "Kyun do naov par sawaar thi uski zindagi, humne naov dubakar uska safar aasaan kar diya…"

The actress was battling depression and other mental health issues, according to her friends and family. She was also seeking treatment for her mental health. The police has launched an investigation into the death, the report said. However, it is suspected that her depression was the cause of the suicide.

A high profile investigation has been ordered in the case of her death, City SP Shri Raj said. A special team has been formed for the same on the directions of SP Anand Kumar.
